About the Movie

When an American home improvement TV show visits a remote Eastern European village, the young crew thinks the lack of mocha lattés and free wifi will be the worst of their problems. But after their filming interrupts the superstitious villagers' private religious ritual, the situation takes a turn for the homicidal… and when the blood starts flowing, that's when things get really weird. With THEY'RE WATCHING, writer/directors Micah Wright and Jay Lender, cartoon industry survivors, turn a classic horror premise upside down to create a fresh, funny twist on the genre.

About the Cast | About the Filmmakers

David Alpay (“Greg Abernathy”) is a Canadian actor best known for his role as Mark Smeaton in the TV series The Tudors, which established him as one of one of the most versatile young actors on TV. He has also appeared in major roles on The Borgias, Dollhouse, Crash, Fairly Legal, Rizzoli & Isles, Flashpoint, Perception, Miami Medical, Royal Pains, The Vampire Diaries, Quantico, and more. David’s first film work was in acclaimed director Atom Egoyan’s film Ararat about the Armenian Genocide, where he starred opposite Christopher Plummer. He worked on director Barry Levinson’s film Man of the Year starring opposite Robin Williams, and in Richard Attenborough’s Closing The Ring, again starring with Christopher Plummer.

Brigid Brannagh (“Becky Westlake”) has been a series regular or featured guest star on Kindred: the Embraced, Legacy, Brooklyn South, Angel, CSI, The West Wing, Sliders, AllyMcBeal, Cold Case, Dharma & Greg, Angel, 24, Enterprise, Without A Trace, NCIS, K-Ville, Over There, Criminal Minds, Leverage, Cult, Drop Dead Diva, and Longmire, just to name a few. She is probably most famous, however, for her role on the Lifetime series Army Wives where she starred for six seasons as Pamela Moran, former cop and wife to a Delta Force soldier. Her feature film credits include the independent film Life Without Dick, starring Harry Connick Jr. and Sarah Jessica Parker.

Kris Lemche (“Alex Torini”) started his career with a recurring role on the Disney series Flash Forward, followed by a guest lead role on the youth series Goosebumps, and was a series regular on CBC's Emily of New Moon, where he was nominated for a Gemini Award in 1998 for Best Supporting Actor. Kris works regularly in TV on shows such as CSI and CSI: NY, Joan of Arcadia, 24, Psych, Criminal Minds, NCIS: Los Angeles, The Ghost Whisperer, and Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. among many others. Kris also appeared in the David Cronenberg feature Existenz, Andrew Nicol’s In Time , The Last Casino, Ginger Snaps, and Final Destination 3.

Carrie Genzel (“Kate Banks”) enjoys equal success as an actor both in her native Canada as well as in the United States. Most recognized for playing the scheming “Skye Chandler” on ABC's All My Children, Carrie has kept busy working on such notable TV programs as Castle, Supernatural, Smallville, Wizards of Waverly Place, Flashforward, Psych, and Flash Gordon to name a few, and has collaborated on the big screen with such acclaimed directors Cameron Crowe, Zack Snyder, Karyn Kusama, Terry Gilliam, and John Avnet, in such films as Watchmen, Jennifer's Body, The Imaginarium of Dr. Parnassus, and 88 Minutes.

Dimitri Diatchenko (“Vladimir Filat”) is a powerful presence both on screen and off. Equally adept at comedy or drama, leading man or heavy, Diatchenko is a masterful, prize-winning classical guitarist with 4 albums to his credit, and a former national Tae Kwon Do heavyweight champion. With a flawless Russian accent, Diatchenko has been quite popular on television, film and videogames, appearing on such hit series as How I Met Your Mother, Sons of Anarchy, Criminal Minds, Burn Notice, Without a Trace, and General Hospital, as well as the films Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, Get Smart, The Chernobyl Diaries, and Burning Palms. His voice has been heard on animated series like Family Guy and The Wild Thornberries, and in videogames like Spiderman: Shattered Dimensions, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, and Fallout 4.

Mia Faith is from Marin County, California where she spent her youth onstage performing in Musical Theater. At the age of 10, she moved to Columbus, Ohio where she worked as a model, sang with the Columbus Children's choir, and performed with a competition dance team. In the fall of 2011, she was admitted to UCLA as a Musical Theater major. She has performed in various commercials, short films and student films, and was given her first lead in the science fiction thriller Dracano.

Micah Wright and Jay Lender met fresh out of college while working in television animation where they (variously) wrote, storyboarded, directed, created, and composed songs for shows like SpongeBob SquarePants, The Angry Beavers, Hey Arnold!, Phineas and Ferb, and Constant Payne. Micah and Jay have written and designed on over 50 videogames including hit games in the Call of Duty, Transformers, Ratchet & Clank, and Looney Tunes franchises. They have written six graphic novels (including the WWII homefront epic, Duster), several films, and have won two awards for their Virtual Reality work for Samsung. Micah and Jay are members of the Writer's Guild of America, where Micah serves as the Chair of the American Indian Writers Committee… and they're standing right behind you! RUN!
